ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced evolution of the exceptionally successful CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for a variety of material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.
SUMOCHAM incorporates four different standard drill head geometries, designed for unmatched performance and high reliability. The drill head is made with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are offered in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, continuous chip flow and a ground gash for improved penetration.
The drill shank design is in accordance to DIN 9766 standard, with available drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies showcase coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion improves rigidity and reduces internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are precisely ground, to increase the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will provide longer tool life and increased productivity.
DR-DH Deep Drills
DR-DH drills can obtain drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Constructed to be implemented on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of additional machine and setup can be avoided. They will be available as semi-standard product in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").
Two versions will be available:
A Single Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FS is a very stiff tool that has a patented chip gullet design. It was built for easily cut materials such as cast iron and low alloyed steel.
A Double Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FD has a double chip gullet for improved chip flow. It was tailored for drilling gummy materials such as non-alloyed steel and high temperature alloys.
ISCAR DEEP HOLE DRILLS
With ISCAR's brand new solid carbide deep hole drills, you can safely drill up to 22 times diameter and attain bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This capacity can speed up several high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it entirely because a drill breaks.
Different target applications include deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A aggregate of features help the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and evacuate chips more readily. A unique high-strength core creates a more durable drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the departure path for chips.
