Craving For A Job, But Consciousness Of Being Victimized By The Job Market Without Hope (Is There Any Additional Way)?
Constant change in the job market is called "churning" and many jobless people feel victimized. This phenomenon concerning jobs is created by many developments and every age seems to search for easy explanations about what's happening in the job market. Every age looks for a new "devil" we can point to and attack, especially if I am the one who's lost his job.Some of the events in the past which have been used to explain job churn include new technologies and inventions that remove jobs from human beings, or the creation of big box stores that push mom-and-pop stores out of business. As time goes on, new services and science deliver in new ways, more efficient ways, to do old, familiar tasks, in turn taking old jobs down the tubes.
A contemporary "devil" was outsourcing or the process of sending American jobs and tasks abroad into other job markets where labor is less costly. A person can't blame companies and employers for trying to cut labor costs. If those jobs go to prisoners or illegal immigrants, there can be an outcry.
The in fashion "devil" is a bad economy, a complicated turn of events being brought about by a variety of factors which includes mortgage failures, home foreclosures and financial abuse of office among big banks and Wall Street firms. To some extent, the American worker has a right to regard him or herself a victim of circumstances. The honesty of the matter, no matter how victimized you may feel, the bad guy or the devil is not going to rescue you or make things more desirable.
I know a guy that has mailed well over 1000 resumes with not one single bite. It would seem that's all he knows to do in the current job atmosphere. But I've got to ask this man how many more resumes will he have to send out before he realizes he is doing a churning of your own? You know the old saying: if you don't want to go insane from doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, then do something different.
So what can a someone do that's different? Sure, keep sending out those resumes, but remember this: not only are all jobs ephemeral, but ways of securing employment also come and go and have a lifespan, which ends with, "The old way just doesn't work anymore."
Here are some suggestions:
- Insert a video of yourself on a website promoting yourself and what you're capable of doing for others and in turn, compensation.
- Talk to people, in other words, network, instead of only sending out resumes.
- Be present at job coaching groups and hear what others are doing different.
- Develop a clientele for a craft or service you can provide and become your own boss.
- Pay attention to job possibilities overseas.
- Instead of than looking for a job that will be full-time, with full benefits, think in terms of employment that are more like gigs, that is, one time doing of a service or task.
A favorite idea of mine that's different to do is obtain a coach who can help you imagine outside the box and be more objective about your scenario. Some one else can always be more detached than we are about our condition and thus think more clearly about new avenues to get money in this current new age of employment.
